The Director of Business Development reports directly to the Vice President, Strategic Growth and is responsible for the achievement of growth goals via the development of solutions and partnerships with an ever-evolving variety of healthcare ecosystem players, including but not limited to health systems, provider/specialty groups, employers, public sector entities and more. The Director must be an accountable and inspirational business development leader. The successful candidate must employ an entrepreneurial spirit and embody a sense of urgency around desire to transform care delivery. Our solutions are broad and expanding, so the ideal candidate must be a creative, aggressive, dynamic and most importantly, have a demonstrated ability to drive new markets and build segments through innovative partnerships.

What You'll Do

Given its versatile industry position, DispatchHealth is pursuing multiple growth channels and this role will enable an experienced business development leader to bring insight and expertise to fuel smart, strategic growth. The company is pursuing a focused expansion plan over the next 24 months and this commercial function will be critical to driving the company’s success. This leader will work closely with the Vice President, Strategic Growth to achieve business development goals that help shape current and future business solutions and partnerships. This leader will also become a trusted partner of the cross functional leadership team to ensure transparency and to foster buy-in along the partnership development process.

 

Key Responsibilities will Include:

  • Generate revenue growth and achieve sales goals by developing, managing, and closing a pipeline of new partner opportunities, primarily focused on health systems but potential to work across risk bearing provider/specialty groups, employers, public sector entities and more.
  • Utilize a consultative approach to understand key partner needs and present effective and compelling proposals via collaboration with key internal stakeholders within DispatchHealth.
  • Negotiate and close key partner agreements with executive decision makers
  • Size market opportunities and propose frameworks for rapidly evaluating go/no-go decisions on sales opportunities. These recommendations could include both traditional and innovative pricing strategies (including risk-sharing and others).
  • Collaborate with the VP of Strategic Growth and other key leaders to develop and implement effective go to market strategies and plans for the Provider Business. This includes ensuring a coordinated effort around product strategy, positioning, and communication.
  • Partner with the Partner Success (Account Management) team leads and Operations to ensure business case assumptions are aligned with the company’s core capabilities.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to executive team about market opportunities, product innovations and partnership strategies to accelerate growth and market adoption.
  • Contribute to annual strategy and budget planning for the Commercial Business as requested
  • As needed, provide subject matter expertise assist in the development of new provider focused solutions, services, segments, and business cases.

What You Need

Qualifications may include:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years of sales excellence in tech enabled and/or provider related health care services to health systems, employers, and/or virtual care companies.
  • Track record of success in sales goal achievement in past organizations
  • Have existing relationships with executives at health systems, employers and/or virtual care companies to accelerate business development opportunities
  • Advanced understanding of value-based care, payer strategies and deal structures that align interests and drive mutual performance.
  • Expertise in deal development, strategy and contracting, with a propensity for rapidly iterating on partnership structures in a hyper growth environment.
  • Experience building trust with senior-level executives at health care organizations and technology companies.
  • Strong executive presence and highly developed cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinker who can succinctly evaluate variables and provide clear recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel (US Only)
  • Proficient use of MS work applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
