Surface Warfare Engineer

This position is in the Washington DC area with the opportunity of hybrid teleworking and in-office work.

The position requires demonstrated experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the Surface Warfare Enterprise (SYSCOMS, TYCOMs, Technical Warrant Holders, Fleet, DLA and OEMs) to support Compressed Air Systems aboard Navy vessels. The key attributes needed for this position are someone with demonstrated experience developing and managing the Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements for Navy systems and that has good project management skills, a self-starter, detailed oriented and timely. You will be part of a 40–50-member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality engineering services solutions. 

In this role, you will:      

• Provide direct program support to the HM&E Material Manager.
• Ability to conduct analysis of product deliveries and/or supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes, to maximize material levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, and or minimize cost.
• Ability to develop point papers, briefings, budget documents and other administrative documents for leadership.
• Familiarity with compressed air systems (engineering, supply, tech data, maintenance, training, support equipment, etc.) and their impacts on system readiness.
• Technical or operational background in Surface Navy HM&E Systems - preferably with compressed air system utilized aboard naval vessels.
• Responsible for development of program Plan of Actions and Milestones, identifying critical paths, program risks, and mitigations plans.
• Compile program level briefs, status reports or special tasking in response to emergent requests for information or resolution of problems utilizing various resources and data analysis.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
• In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 7 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (post-employment)
• Computer skills: requires advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
• Previous experience working in the engineering plant of conventional naval vessels.
• Knowledge/Understanding of the Navy provisioning process and configuration management.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasking and represent at technical meetings.
• Former Navy Senior Enlisted Hull Maintenance Technician (HT), or Machinist’s Mate (MM) or Engineman (EN).
• Ability to travel 10%

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $73,214.46 to $122,024.1 however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
