Position Description

 

Serco-NA is actively seeking a motivated individual to provide software development support to the United States Air Force Civil Engineering NexGen project. In this role, you will work with our dynamic NexGen team to support critical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities for the Air Force customer. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design, analysis and development of software solutions to the Air Force CE community across more than 200 bases worldwide.

 

The successful applicant must be flexible, self-motivated, and well-organized. You must have the ability to build relationships and work effectively across multiple levels of the organization. Excellent customer service, communication and analysis skills are a plus. If you possess a strong desire to learn and grow you will love working with the NexGen IT Team.

In this role, you will:

  • Work as a consulting team member or an individual technical consultant on product implementation, enhancement, integration or audit projects
  • Demonstrate expertise on work efforts that are focused on the analysis of the customer's business goals, objectives, needs and the general business environment to solve technical problems
  • Demonstrate familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures from a TRIRIGA business perspective
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Perform a variety of complicated tasks
  • Exhibit a wide degree of creativity and latitude

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in software developer role
  • 3 experience using SOAP XML/REST based web service APIs or similar technologies and ability to troubleshoot and maintain SOAP XML/REST based web service APIs or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of database technologies, PL/SQL, and SQL skills
  • Familiar with Putty/Linux commands and VMWare
  • Familiar with ETL/Integration tools such as MuleSoft or Alteryx
  • Experience repairing and maintaining existing software
  • Ability to work with multiple internal and external organizations to resolve technical and other customer related problems, multitask, meet deadlines and set priorities
  • Enjoy problem solving through troubleshooting, debugging, and testing of software
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Up to 10% Travel

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of Air Force CE Community.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodology preferred
  • Experience working with federal government programs, particularly DoD
  • Experience in IBM TRIRIGA application development
  • Use of SqlDeveloper, TOAD
  • Experience with the Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence or equivalent DevSecOps experience

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $112,133.01 to $186,888.35; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
